A little bit about Kate's Treasures... 

It is always difficult to leave young children and go to work, so I've made the decision to work from home and follow the love I have always had for art and craft. 

My name is Kate and I live in Newry, Co. Down in Northern Ireland with my husband and 3 lovely children. In my past I was working mostly in the  office, but between 2008 and 2010 I was a stay at home mum with 2 gorgeous girls. Well, in fact I still enjoy being a full-time mum, it hasn't changed. However, I added a little extra to my life – the 'Kate's Treasures'.
After doing some research, I realised that there was a niche in the market for bespoke, attractive presents with that special 'something' in it and reasonably priced, too.
It was a time when my best friend was expecting a baby. I wanted to buy a gift for her to make that special time even more unforgettable. I went shopping and came back with a bag full of baby stuff but they didn’t look good in a simple present box. It was just too typical. I wanted something more memorable. 
I put all these beautiful things on my sofa and started arranging them in to a cake like the one I saw some day on the internet. I couldn’t believe when two hours later I finished my first nappy cake. My friends were amazed and couldn't believe I did it all by myself! 
That situation gave me an inspiration to create a place where everything is made with love and your wishes come true.

Kate's Treasures started this big adventure in January 2010. Here you can see a photograph of my first Nappy cake:

There have been some changes during these years and my wee family helps me a lot now.

In 2011 I've started making handmade jewellery for girls and a few months after this, due to customers' requests, character pyjamas and shoes for kids have been added to the shop. First socks/clothing bouquets for women and babies were introduced for Christmas 2011.

During all these years I've been constantly working to improve my gifts and make them different to others available online. The feedback I received from many of the new and returning customers was very supportive.

It's still a small, home based business and you can find my contact details under 'About Us' section in the Menu. I am now a stockist for 'Suki Gifts' and other baby/kids related manufacturers. I hope to widen the range of presents and products even more in the near future. More details will be available on my blog :)
